Coffee Table Project – Finito!... finalmente! – And Coming Next Month…
Click on any picture to see a larger version.
It seemed like it took months to build these coffee tables, but a lot of projects came and went through the shop while I built these in my "spare" time. I had intended them to be my spouse's anniversary present, but I missed that deadline. Then I aimed for her birthday… missed that, too. But they are in the house now, and have, unfortunately, created headaches. Now all I hear is, "I want a matching bench for the entryway… a place where I can sit and put on my shoes." "I want a new chair to bring some color into this room now." "We need new pillows for the sofas that will draw out the color of the coffee tables."
Can I please just sit on the couch and put my feet up on one of these tables and relax a bit? "No, you'll scratch them up."
"Not to worry, hon… I spilled a drink on one of them last night, and this morning I nicked one with the vacuum cleaner. They are already 'broken in'. My feet won't hurt them a bit!"
Next month in the Down To Earth Woodworker we will get through a good bit of building the Mobile Sanding Center and look at some energy-saving strategies for the shop that might just save you enough on your electricity bill that you can afford that new tool you've been craving! See you next month.
